adenosine is unclassified antiarrhythmic drug, decreases SA and AV node activity and increases the AV node refractory period.
DOC for PSVTs and AV nodal arrhythmias.

Apart from using adenosine in cases of supraventricular tachycardia, adenosine, is used in the evaluation of chest pain and angina.. We have a combination of Adenosine/thallium or persantine or dipyridamole /thallium.This is in use, when the patient cannot tolerate exercise especially in severe arthritis and aortic stenosis..Alibism
