Latent TB 2 different management? - cd8tcell
#1
For latent TB why are 2 groups of treatment mentioned in UW?

one says INH 9 months + B6

Other says 3-4-6 months
3-INH+Rifapentine
4-INH + 6 mon of Rifampin
6-INH monotherapy

Active TB = 2 mon Rifampin - INH + Pyrizimamide + Ethambutol then 4 mon INH

LATENT TB is Non-Infectious so patient can go back to work.

LATENT: if patient is allergic to INH or some contraindication: give Rifampin x 4 months

LATENT: Regular pt: INH + b6 for 9 months

TB meningitis: (RIP + floroquinolone x 2 months) + ( INH/Rifampin for 9-12 months) + (8 weeks steroids)

Active TB: (RIPE x 2 months) + INH/b6 for 4 months

so what the UW mentioned for latent TB, the longer version of treatment, is that for TB patients with meningitis or CI?

****Other says 3-4-6 months
3-INH+Rifapentine
4-INH + 6 mon of Rifampin
6-INH monotherapy
