What do you guys plan to do after a prelim surgery year?

Do PGY-2 categorical spots come by at all? If you apply for categorical PGY1 the following year, whats the best way to improve your chances of getting in?

What are others interested in doing after?

its tough to get categ pgy2, but you have to try hard in your pgy1 to impress your PD, since he's the one who can get you into categ if you are good.work hard in your pgy1, so that u r wanted in ur own program & get good LORs for categ applications elsewhere.
its all in you r hands,man !
u can look for PM&R,radiology pgy2 vacant spots too besides surg .
