I am confused. Why didn't you go through the match?? Also, why don't you ask your mentor(s) to help you with the matching/and or postmatch. It all about networking.
Try and publish as much as you can. That counts a lot too.

i did step 2 late and my scores came march 1st,
i am trying to publish one paper... am almost working alone now writing it, because everybody gave up...
my supervisors tried even to call the programs during the postmatch... and talked to the pd, but nothing worked..
so i came to a conclusion, that they might help but the most important thing is you! that is why the interviews are the most important thing...
