hi everyone, I am a new comer,need some advice - georgewang

I am IMG. Grad 1993. Now being a lab research postdoc in the university hospital in USA for 1 year. I began to prepare for the step1 last June. I reviewed the all text books. Now watch the kaplan note books and dvd. last month , take the diagnosis test of kaplan ,score is only 41%. what should I do for the next step?
need some advice and help

do NBME 1 - find out your relative strengths.
Make a plan according to that.
Review HY material from FA
Do UW Qbank.

i also recommend that you make a list of tested topix from qbanks and study around them...i did this for step 2 and it worked very well.
start thinking froma a question point of view and do selective studying from yr kaplan notes now ...know the commonly tested topics very very well.

did u study for step 2 by doing Q bank first n then u converged it to imp topics in kaplan notes.how long did it take u to do step 2
i am asking cuz i already applied for step 2 in december after i take my step 1in 2-3 wks
