90s with 2nd attempt will definetly show that person has improved in many areas such as test taking ability if the medical school exams are not based on the usmle format.
There 're many advantageas as well as few disadvantages too.

my suggestion
frst take an nbme form online judge urself then if u score too low on nbme then (thats only n only if u think u r in worst of situaion n can afford to spend money again) then sit for the exam go thru all the bloks know the qs,stuff they ask but choose wrong choices so that u dontpass it n then sit fr the exam after reapplying atleast use this opportunity to know urself how step2 qs are like in real exam all the best

Hey-- my sincere advise
If u feel you are not ready--do not write the exam If u fail-or planning to fail-- then u wil have to re-apply for the exam--- so as it is-- u HAVE TO SPEND THOSE $ 700 There r many programs which specify--(ALL FIRST ATTEMPTS) so -let ur eligibilty period--expire by itself----do not schedule an appointment--and then APPLY FRESH AND WRITE THE EXAM WHEN YOU R PREPARED WITH A FIRST ATTEMPT AND SCORE UR 90+

STill , you have option to quit while doing exams; The score will not be reported unless u complete all the blocks.
