Can anyone plz tell me what is the best strategy to secure a position in IM residency on H1B for sure .

My entire medical college batch is planning to apply for residency in the US in different specialities.Any way to get externships or hands on USCE ?

Get high scores on USMLE exams.
Apply early
Get some US clinical experience
Have a good human interaction

it is a fact that there is a limited number of positions, and every year a larger number of applicants is left unmatched.....I am not trying to discourage u...but on the other hand for sure, if your performance at your medical school was (terrific) and u get VERY high scores on your exams..you will be able to secure a position....yes there is a luck factor..but if you are really good you will get a position....remember me after 1 year from now...and notice that the best of your classmates will be really the luckiest in the match....thats what I noticed from my experience in this year's match..
