Hi all ....
I just finished my exam yesterday.
I started my preparation in Feb ( 2-3 hrs / day ) and from mid may about 6-7 hrs / day.
I reviewed Kaplan notes, Q-bank and UW. I think exam is much similar to UW but questions are lengthier than UW.
Questions:
Lots of internal medicine atleast 50%.
2-3 ekg,
Lots of pathophysiology questions: sarcoidosis, Multiple sclerosis, Parkinsonisms disease.
Emergency contraception,
Achalasia, Kawasaki disease, Dermatomyositis( heliotrope rash, gottrons patches)
Management of preeclampsia,
Placenta praevia( transverse lie),
Post date pregnancy 41 weeks (NST),
Mullerian insensitivity syndrome,
2-3 biostat questions : reliability, interpretation of 95 % CI,
5-6 ethics question( one from forum about consent for organ donation )
8-10 questions from DSM criteria( bipolar , schizophrenia,)
5-6 poisoning questions: acetaminophen, cocaine.
Croup( resting wheeze: racemic epinephrine)
treatment PCP pneumonia, CMV,
hypertonic urge incontinence,
2-3 questions on PCOD high risk of endometrial cancer, treatment,
7th nerve palsy: taste sensation,
Anticholinergic side effects, Anti psychotic induced akathasia,
Acute congestive glaucoma, Cataract( gradual loss of vision),
Menieres disease, Migraine headache,
Mechanical Obstruction ( after laprotomy),
Episodic headache and high BP ( pheochromocytoma), Diabetic Insipidus,
Heat stroke( same questions as of NBME: inadequate dissipation of heat),
Galactose 1 phosphate uridyl transferase deficiency( +ve clini test), Mcardles disease( Cramps after sternous exercise),
Cholangitis, pancreatitis : persistence of fever and high WBC( NSIM: I chose CT abdomen),
Intestimal atresia( intra uterine vascular accident),
Hemophila A, BT reaction( hypothermia: rapid transfusion without warmer),
Child abuse( report CPS), Vitamin A toxicity ( pseudo tumor cerebri),
Mild acne what u will advise( I chose avoid oil based ointments),
2 questions on abnormal pap smear ( NSIM: colposcopy guided biopsy),
Fragile syndrome( CAG repeat, MR, macroorchidism, large ears),
Osteosarcoma in pagets disease,
Tension pneumothorax, bronchial rupture, flial chest, hypovolemic shock,
