Right time to take Step-3 to get H-1 visa -

Hi,
I am an IMG. I need to get h-1 to be able to work. Do I have to take step 3 before match ? Or can I take it before the hosiptal files for my h-1 (After match) ?

I am planning for 2005 match. I already cleared step1 and step2. I am giving CS end of this month.

Seems like you're going to have a lot of time for step 3 before the 2005 match. If you have it, probably gives you more leverage to negotiate with a program for an H-1. You know that is a lot of work for them too as compared to J-1. So make your position stronger. You're a maratha fighter, aren't you!
