Percussion is done when the patient sits for the pulmonary system. As you also need to differentiate where the diaphragm ends/begins.
Abdominal percussion is done when the patient lies down.

no percussion is needed if not lung case. only do it on the back. it is enough. Don't need to do percussion in abd exam.

In lung cases percussion should be 6 anterior, 1 at each side and 4 at the back. It's in the SP check list.
