i am sure that for oral you have to use..2 forms of contraception...
topical retinoids ........... i am really not sure!

yeah for Accutane, b-HCG and contraception definitely required.
But for topical it's not that clear cut. I read around, and only for one type of topical retinoid (tazarotene), is contraception constantly mentioned. Teratogenicity has not been proven outright (there is some evidence from animal trials), however contraception is used by dermatologists to play it on the safe side.
