Hi
I am an old grad ......please advice as to how should I study for step 3 .Books etc.I did my step 2 in 2004.Scores were in 78-79.Will really appreciate sincere advice.

hi aw,

one year is alot of time to prepare for step 3...
good you have time on your side...

unfortunately there is no ONE book that has all the study material needed to pass STEP 3...
Swanson Family Practice, 5th edition is a good/great place to start...
PR notes seem to be very popular as well...as a solid study material....
First Aid for step 3.....used by some....
Crush.....i personally don't like....
do some question banks...popular ones are UW, MKSAP14, KAPLAN on-line and Kaplan Q-book!
for CCS...UW cases and practice with the USMLE CD, sent to you by FSMB....

these are my 2 cents... i hope this helps u some....

Thank you soooo much for responding to my posting .I have one more q, do you or anyone you know has premier review notes and whats the best unofficial way to get these. Plus how useful is first aid for step 2 .

~the best way to ask for PR notes is to leave an e-mail address...
~if someone wants to help you they might contact you and give you what you want...
~if you have to buy one book...go for Swanson....my opinion only!
