chronic renal failure leads to hypocalcemia and less production of erythropoietin which leads to increased PTH and anemia respectively.

chronic renal failure causes hypovitaminosis d, which decreases calcium absorption from gut..

hypocalcemia causes increase in pth

erythropoietin decreases in crf too, leadin to anemia

the enz alfa 1 hidroxilase is in the kidney...so if the kidney is in chronic renal failure the enz is low . it work turning vit D inactive into activ. so low vit d mean low ca absortion by intestine. PTH will be high.
