High Altitide : Decreased Barometric Pressure + Decreased PaO2 ---------> Carotid Body receptors detect decerased PaO2 -----> Compensatory Hyperventilation -----> Decreased PaCO2 -------> Respiratory Alkalosis.
Also hemoconcentration , Incersed EPO occur along with Increased 2,3BPG to deliver more O2.
Sx: Dyspnoea, Headache, Letahrgy, Pulmonary edema.
Rx: Descent, Carbonic Anhydrase ( which producxes metabolic acidosis to counter the respiratory alkalosis)
