IS UW harder than the actual step 1 exam?? - step1gurl

I would like to know...if UW is harder or probably same as the actual exam?A friend of mine told me that its harder

I think its equal in difficulty to some of the blocks on exam

i dont think so. we do usmle world when we are in the process of preparing for the actual test. before that we have finished all the subs individually, not integrated them together. usmleworld help us to do that. when we go to take the actual test, the whole integrated idea comprising all the preparations along with usmle world give us the clear advantage. thats why some people find usmle world difficut than the real exam.

Well I've taken the exam already (about 4 months ago) and i actually spoke with several classmates of mine who took it around the same time as me in vastly different locations and i have to say our consensus was that it was definitely easier than USMLE world. Yes there are many clinical vignettes that span an easy 6 or 7 lines, but there are also many 2 line questions that i found to be shockingly straight forward. as for the questions with a myriad of choices (like letters A through K) those are usually micro, behavioral science, or pretty straightforward path questions. The rest is standard 5 choices (and some i had were only 4 choices.) I definitely don't want to make this sound like the SAT exam lol cause it isn't by any means- there's several tricky diagrams, a bunch of q's where they had 5 arrows going either up or down or NC, and MRI's and CT's that can give you fits, but when you look at it in it's totality and if i had to compare it to taking approximately 350 randomly tested USMLE world style q's, i definitely believe the actual test is more doable!!
