I am an old graduate (1994) and applied to to 92 programs in IM. So far I have only 12 interviews and maybe 15 rejections What are other programs doing??? It is already 2nd quiet day. O my God...

Seriously, you are ok with your 8 invs. I'll get a couple more after MSPE letter becomes available to PDs I am sure. Do not freak out.

I think 8 is a good number. Ratio 1:16. I put out 128 apps, heard from 28. Only 19 of the total are in peds of the 19 only 1 interview. Thats 1:20. Although there is no magic number, your ratio is good I think.

Also the ratio itself is not the only indicator. So, if many of his applications were sent to university programs, his 1:16 ratio is a very high one.
