what about routine pathology after surgery, like say after resection of a breast lump.
we send all sample to pathology after surgery.
it is more accurate than biopsy, right?

actually both are biopsies.

resection of breast lump is "excisional biopsy" (whole mass sample)

another one is FNAC of breast mass and in that case u need to order cytology in CCS. (a sample part of mass)

NOW

if cystic mass than FNAC, solid than excisional biopsy.
