a 38 years old man presents to you for well being analysis. he has 20 pack years smoking history, no family history of CAD, h/o grade 1 hypertension controlled with thiazide diuretic. present BP is 150/90. fasting lipid profile shows following:

HDL 45 mg/dl
LDL 150 mg/dl
triglyceride 150

what should be the next intervention for hyperlipidemia in this patient:

a. life style modification
b. drug therapy with statin
c. no intervention at this stage
d. drug therapy with niacin

correct me if i'm wrong but life style mod. is not enough for that guy. he already has 2 riisk factors and i think deserves statin. if there is an option like life style mod. and statin, i would coose it, but now intervention with statin is necessary.
