Doubt in CCS regarding IBS - sri25

Hi Friends... I have a doubt in ccs regarding uworld case of irritable bowel syndrome. Why should we give lactose free diet to a patient having ibs? The case didn't improve until and unless i had given that diet. So, is it compulsory to give lactose free diet for ibs?
Can anybody explain me this please?

Yes, you should consider Lactose free diet and also gluten free diet as well.
Celiac disease . Gluten free diet. No wheat , rye and barley.
