Microelectrodes placed into the cardiac myocytes detect a rapid decrease in cytoplasmic calcium level immediately preceeding relaxation. Which of the following mediates the response?

A. Voltage dependent calcium channels
B. Ryanodine receptors
C. Na/Ca+2 exchange mechanism

Yep. Na/Ca+2 pump is the pump that pumps out calcium out of the cell.

the catch here is the Ryanodine receptors. Remember that these are involved in the release of calcium from the sarcoplasmic reticulum and not the re-entry. The re-entry is mediated by active transport into the sarcoplasmic reticulum or the sodium calcium pump
