minnitol cause shifting fluid from intra to extra cellular. therefore kidney should handle this extravolum by dumping into urine. but in this case it cnn't.therefore using mannitol scontraindicated.

Its is contraindicated in anuria due to renal disease because the excessive loss of water and electrolytes may lead to serious imbalances. that can cause hypernatremia.

Mannitol is contraindicated in patients with anuria sec­ondary to renal disease, severe dehydration, intracranial bleeding (unless during cran­iotomy), severe pulmonary congestion or pulmonary edema.
however Mannitol is used to promote diuresis in acute oliguric renal failure, re­duce intraocular and intracerebral pressures, enhance urinary excretion of some toxins
