15 y o boy attempted suicide and took aspirin overdose. he is now in ER but his temperature 39 C (102,2 F) . why he has hypertermia???

aspirin is a poison to the mitochondria it results in uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation. It interferes with ATP production and so no ATP is formed but electron transport continues resulting in formation of heat
