Can you guide me for..... - norwalk

what to do when pt ask for medicine for his pain at the end of encounter ?....like doc pl give me something to relieve my pain ......how we can close the encounter ?

what i thougth is.....i will tell my staff outside to give you medication which will relieve your pain, is that fine with you mr. XYZ ?

is it the proper closing or something else....guide me.

If it is at the end, than I would say œCertainly I can & right away I will send a nurse with the appropriate drug for you Mr. XY! Ok? They will say something like- œOh, thank you doc! Than you should say: œThank you (4 coming here) & take care!

But if they are almost screaming at the beginning of the exam & beg your 4 some pain killer, than you ( I mean if I were you I would say): œ I do believe you Mr.XY but you have to understand that without proper examination it™s hard to say what could be your problem & which drug would be the best 4 you. I'll give my best to be as gentle as possible & it wont take us more than 10 minutes. Ok Mr. XY?
