Love Letters to program - skirilarry
#1
So is everyone writing to programs at the end of the interview season to further show interest? Should we still write programs even if there has already been post interview contact on both sides? How about places where you never received a response to your thank you notes?
What are some helpful key words/phrases to include? Should you say you are ranking them so so number or not. Also how about places that have given out some of their spots as prematch? Is it still worth writing them a letter?
I appreciate your helpful insightful responses!

I would write a letter to any program I'm still interested in (regardless of PM's, them never responding to thank you notes).

Keep it short and sweet. Don't go Shakespeare on them and profess your undying love for everything about the program including the janitorial staff.

"I had a wonderful experience interviewing at your program"
"I am confident your program is a strong fit for me"...

I would never say I will rank you #1 (who would say I would rank you #5?).

Just say I will rank your program highly and look forward to working with ______
