Whats is First test to be done in a diagnosed symptomatic case of Sarcoidosis?

Whats is the diagnostic test of choice?

Whats is the first line management in an asymptomatic patient but Biopsy is positive?

Whats is the good progosnticator and bad prognosticator for Sarcoidosis?

Answer these and I will make a thread of questions from here....I mean I ll dig sarcoidosis more !!!

1.chest x ray
2.biopsy
3.no treatment reqd for asymptomatic
4.erythema nodosum-good prognosis and from the link bad prog...Age of onset > 40 years

What do you do if you put a symptomatic patient on Steroids and he does not improve in 4 weeks?

Well Bad prognosticator is ----> Parenchymal involvement

just consult the therapy section of the NEJM review: "Lack of a response after 3 months suggests the presence of irreversible fibrotic disease, nonadherence to therapy, or an inadequate dose of prednisone."

thier is not much to offer beside steroid to these pts
if after3 months no improvement ... sign of bad prog

Whats is the diagnostic test - Biopsy (assuming u asked accurate test)
Whats is the first line management in an asymptomatic patient but Biopsy is positive? - no Rx
Whats is the good progosnticator and bad prognosticator for Sarcoidosis? - ACE levels
