Step3 & residency in California: Current status ? - bep111

Can anyone please tell me the current scenario of getting residency in California?
I have passed step1 in 2007, but not yet appear step2ck CS now thinking of appearing 2CK but i don't have any time in my hand only 3 years to complete 2ck , CS.

Now i need to know the current status of residency opportunity in California? Because it is one of the state that accepts step3 application without residency(Postgraduate training).

Any kind soul who can help me out?

What is your year of graduation by the way?
If you graduated more than 5 years ago, your step 1 score is low, and you have been out of medicine for the last 5 years, getting a residency in CA is going to be tough.
