57/F 2 yr history of progressive cough of 2-3 tablespoons of yellow sputum daily,worst in the mornings and now lasts all day.
she cannot walk more than one block w/o becoming short of breath
smoked 2 packs of cigarettes daily for 40yrs
she is 160cm tall and weighs 82 kgs ,BMI 32
O2 saturation 90%
breath sounds are dec in all lung fields
expiratory phase is prolonged
FEV >80%
FEV1: FVC 70%
DLCO >60%
my diagnosis is Chronic bronchitis----> DLCO >60%
emphysema ----> dec DLCO

DLCO test determines how effectively gases are exchanged between the blood and airways in the lungs. Pats w emphysema have lower DLCO results indicated by a reduced ability to take up oxygen.
ans: chronic bronchitis.

Guys for this question, is'nt a normal DLCO 75-120%? Therfore a value of >60% should be interpreted as low?
Thoughts?

yeah i dun abt normal or not but i picked chronic bronchitis and got it right ..so thts definitely the answer
