USMLE Candidate Internship Opportunity
Internship: Evaluating Existing EMR Practice Utilization
Description:
Seeking current USMLE Candidates to assist in research development for a case study evaluating Electronic Medical Records (EMR) utilization parameters in existing health care provider entities.
Details:
• Internship Duration: January 04 through January 15.
• Hours: Est. 4 hours each week per USMLE Candidate discretion
Intern Responsibilities:
• Contact key medical office/clinic representatives responsible for the implementation and utilization of EMR on behalf of medical practice
• Complete 15 project research interviews via interpersonal phone interviews or online questionnaire vehicle (Estimated duration per phone interview: 15 minutes)
• Submit via email issued health care provider contact list record to research personnel (weekly)
Internship Participation Benefits:
USMLE Candidates will obtain a comprehensive understanding of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service’s (CMS) designed purposes for implementing the EMR mandates as well as EMR utilization efficiencies and challenges from the perspective of U.S. health care practitioners.
USMLE Candidates who complete the required 15 project research interviews will receive a written letter of recommendation from a licensed U.S. physician and Internship Participation Certificate.
Requirements:
• USMLE Candidates must have a proficient command and unequivocal articulation of the English language.
• USMLE must have access to a computer and printing capabilities
Training:
All USMLE Candidates awarded an Internship appointment will be required to attend a 2 hour training discussion January 29 at a location to be determined in Houston, Texas or via a teleconference for Candidates located outside Houston, Texas.
