Hey can someine please explain to me why lowering the cut off value for fasting glucose(e.g. from 140 to 126mg/dl) in a population INCREASES the negative predictive value of the test?

becoz u pick up more of the false negatives

what the equation: true neg over true neg+fal neg right....so therefore ur fals neg goes down and therfore ur neg pred vaue goes up.....my mistake in above post!
