please advice - grad1999

hi i graduated in 1999. did pg in obs back home,was working till now and now in US.have a GC.not good score with82/78.still to give cs in july 2nd wk.medical documents forwarded by med sch but stlll not verified by ecfmg. please tell me how to proceed. can i fill eras without ecfmg certificate , verified documents,cs result. would i get some residency with these scores somewere in nyc or nj. were should i apply. i would be looking for some usce after cs as i have just couple of wks left for exam. i have a good dean's letter and letters from my teachers. how many lor's do i need.
which residency programs possibly accept with lower scores. i would not be able to continue in obg i know.

also does knowing some docs from home country who are already working at good positions helps somehow?
please advice. all advices would be highly appreciated and would be grateful.

ok, lemme answer as much as possible. firstly work on ur ecfmg certificate by passing all the required exams, then get all the documents to ecfmg from ur home country etc. well when eras opens start filling up ur application, but dont submit. try to get into some observership or externship and obtain some us lors(if possible). once u have these u r pretty much good to go( ecfmg certifcate and us lors). try to send the applis out by mid sept or oct. apply far and wide in ob/gyn field. u will definetely get some interviews if u have ecfmg certificate and us lors otherwise ur relevant pg education will be appealing to chose u for the interview. once u r at that stage then its pretty much how u can sell urself in the interview. ob/gyn is possible in ur case. u have the relevant pg, and gc. i think it will work. gl

thanks. would look for some usce once the step 2 cs exam is over. i had this impression that with low scores you just out. one more thing if you could or anyone can answer-- would i be able to change over to some other stream if i do not get obgyn. what other feilds should i apply for . please reply
