Slip Disk - newboy

U dont order MRI for all patients with slip disk....right ? i guess onnly time u order is when u have neuro s/s like bladder probs and lower limb weakness etc

am i right?

You know buddy every thing, OK if you are suspecting slip disk only than what is test of choice ?

You're referring to back pain. Back pain in the abscence of neurologic symptoms, co-morbidites (cancer) does not warrent radiographic investigation. The AMA says, don't even bother with an X-ray.

But, if you are suspecting a herniated disk, then the best test is MRI of the spine. You want to localize the site of herniation.

slip disk is diadnosed using mri!!!!!!
