Sarcoidosis
multisystem with noncaseating granulomas in affected organs.
skin--->erythema nososum
eye-->uveitis
Pulm hilar lymphadenopathy in >90%
CNS Bells palsy
Cardiac--> conduction disturbance
hypercalcemia--> CRF, kidney stones hypercalciuria in 50%
Dx: BX of gland. Can bx lacriminal, parotid, salivary, lymph node look for the noncaseating granuloma. DO NOT BX the skin lesion erythema nososum.

Well in U.W AND Kaplan q bank, there is a case in which pt has erythema nodosum and lung nodules, they preferred to do skin biopsy(EN biopsy) as this is least invasive and accurate.

Please verify.

In UW, they mentioned to do lung biopsy when a pt comes with skin nodules and lung involvement in sarcoidosis and they gave do not biopsy the skin lesion esp erythema nodosum , i dont know about kaplan q bank.
