what do u do FIRST if a pregnant female has an abnormal AFP and wat is the most common cause of it ???

gestational age error??do ultrasound to rule out multiple gestation(inc),fetal demise or gestational age.
if nothing found,do amniocentesis for amniotic fluid AFP.
