Oculomotor Nerve Palsy:
1)Lower Motor Neuron: Ipsilateral LMN paralysis of muscles supplied by III
2)Levator palpebrae m: Ipsilateral ptosis (can™t raise eyelid); paralysis of levator palpebrae
m.
Damage Level:
Lesion of CN III (Oculomotor n.)
1)Extrinsic eye muscles: Sup, Medial, Inf rectus Inferior oblique
Lateral deviation of ipsilateral eye(external strabismus); unopposed action of lateral rectus m
2)Pupil:
Ipsilateral dilation of pupil
Ipsilateral loss of pupillary
light reflex & accomodation
