Arginine
Enhances production of ornithine, which facilitates incorporation of waste nitrogen into the formation of citrulline and argininosuccinate.

arginine enhances ornithine but then u have ornithine transcabamoylase deficiency...and this enzyme is reqd for further conversion to citrulline for urea cycle to go on...so can plzz explain a lil more..

Citrulline can be derived from multiple sources:

from arginine via nitric oxide synthase (NOS)
from ornithine via catabolism of proline or glutamine/glutamate
