When you prepare a PS it's good to mention real life experience. The PD who gave me a positive response particuliarly mentioned it. Eg: One of the patient's husband told me after treating this: " Doctor you have something in you that you cannot learn from a medical school. And he said pointing his finger to his heart "you have a good heart'." The PD took this particular sentence and asked to explain it further.

So add as many real incidences like this in your PS.

Because in FM they are looking for doctors who can empathise with patients. Because most of the family medicine programs have a psychologist in the program to teach that aspect to the residents.
