is the 30 day rule strictly appllied based on residency start date given in ds2019? i have booked tickets for May 29, while the start date in my ds2019 is July 1. ( which makes it 32 days before) However, my orientation starts June 24. Any advice is highly appreciated. will i need to reschedule my flight?

Yes it applies . Plz enter less than 30 days from start date on DS 2019 .
Why to take chance .
Doesnot matter when orientation starts .

Is there any advantage or disadvantage of looking ticket before visa is issued???
