I may dissagree guys. Becos the pain mimics MI, u may do ekg 1st to rule out the worst, then proceed with the swallow.

If can not differentiate clinically between Esophageal Spasm and MI proceed to EKG
Initial test --> barium swallow showing a œcorkscrew appearance Most accurate test --> esophageal manometry showing: 1. high amplitude, repetitive, simultaneous contractions 2. nutcracker esophagus --> high amplitude, prolonged contractions

sure wit any chest pain wehave to rule out MI first, so do ECG then proceed to the tests.
