I understand many ppl are still trying to find a PGY1 position at this moment, I hope it's not too insensitive to post such a thread, but if it is, my apologies.
I do believe I'm not the only person with these questions, so please contribute if you have any info:
If you have applied for the match again during your PGY1 in a categorical program,
1.Did you tell your current PD that you were going to apply for the match? at what time?
2.Is LOR from the current PD required by many programs? would they often call the PD the find out your performance?
3.how about letter from the attending from your current program, is that required?
4.how would you handle the 2nd year contract, seems like you have to returned the signed contract in Jan, which is long before your match result is out, won't that be too risky to give up the current program before having something in your hand?
5. and how did you manage to find time for the interviews?
