California letter - lingdoc
#11
Thanks for your comments, yodedo!

I just heard one girl had to redo the L5 form since her school was writing the clerkship time in "weeks" instead of "hours".

I will keep my fingers crossed. Hope this won't be a problem.

I have posted a lot on PTAL (California letter) here on this forum. But one thing I didn't mention on any of my post, and I should have, that processing of PTAL, including the time it takes, the receipt u get or don't get, status letter, weeks vs. hours, all these depend on the specialist assigned to your case.
As soon u mail the application to CA-MED-board, after they cash you check, they assign you a specialist. The specialist is assigned based on first letter or your last name.

If the specialist is good, then u will first a receipt that they received application (it is usually a card). then pprox. 95-105 days later u will get s status letter, if anything is missing. then within 4 months u will get your PTAL. Also a good specialist won't object to hours vs weeks.

If u get a bad specialist then of course any thing and everything possible can go wrong.

here are some of the specialist at CA-med boards (based on your last names):
** this is 2 year old, so some of them may have left, or some new names may have been added:
[C-E] A. Knight
[J-K] P. Egeston
[N-O] T. Barrientos
[A-B] J. Willey
[H-I] N. Jurisich
[W-Z] M. Wilson
[P-R] L. Sterba
[S-T] S. Smith
[U-V] D. Thompson
[F-G] C. Barrozo
[L-M] B. McBride
