There are two ways of sending documents, through your school incase they have this new ERAS feature or through ECFMG/ERAS. If your school doesn't have this feature then you will have to use the DSF fromat since you will have to send them to ECFMG/ERAS for scanning porpuses. If your school have this new ERAS feature, might have another way of scanning documents, so then, once scanned, they send them to ECFMG.

This is called EMSWP, it means the med school u studied should have created an account with ECFMG . Your med school will upload documents in this account on your behalf. Many schools from India dont have this but med schools are now getting registered with this.

Imagine if your MSPE, TRANSCRIPT AND LOR come directly from your principal office then authenticity is 100 percent so ECFMG prefers it

Now if apply for usmle exams also if ur med school is not registered u have to send form 186 , but acc to new rules if ur med school has an EMSWP account with ecfmg they just scan and send the 186 from their acc and thats it ecfmg accepts it

this is just the beginning of ecfmg initiative that everythng will be online
