I am done with step 1 and step 2 ck and cs.
Now planning for step 3.. Am i suppose to be in residency program to be eligible for step 3? Am i suppose to be a resident of state for which i am applying? Plz reply

--Some states. most apply through connecticut or delaware (no need of residency and/or no bar of yrs)

Also i am having average scores ... but if i will score higher in step 3 ,will it help me in residency???

during application, you need to choose those states (delaware or connecticut, you need to read it yourself when you will apply).
but you can take your exam in any states of usa (only usa). prepare well, next you can apply one month before to write exam. step 3 can be a help to get in residency if you have low scores, or old grad , or any other deficiency as example long time away from clinic. . now regarding-- "please reply.. i have no one to really guide me." how many people do you know they have spouse/siblings/relatives etc to guide? not many. most are like you. so, stay here. if you have any ques, ask here -- somebody/manybody  will help you.good luck for prep.
