I am in my 1st year in a psych program that has no teaching whatsoever.
Is there any way I can prevent my program from finding out that I am applying to another program or do the new programs contact my present program.

To answer your question-

I have not been in a residency program yet, but from what I have heard I do not think you need to tell your program director about your switch at first. But eventually he/she and the other residents WILL find out.

And yes, the new program will probably need to contact the old program. Asking them not too is EXTREMELY suspicous if you ask me.

So please let us know which program you are in now, as I am going into PSYCH and I do not want to go to your program. Thanks for this favor.

PS Have you considered taking your problems to the program director? I mean maybe it can be fixed?
