I think its b/c resp alkalosis is what initially occurs during asthma attacks..and if this was the case here then the dec. CO2 and High pH from hyperventillation would be correct (choices A, B, D). But when its severe you're body starts giving up in trying to maintain homeostasis and CO2 accumulates to decrease pH. And E is just normal.

Please correct me if my reasoning is wrong?

yes...PH normal means she has developed respiratory fatigue. wont be able blow off C02 anymore...pretty soon she is goin to develop...respiratory failure...so we need to intubate....
