1. does spousal abuse have to be reported?

2. do patients have a right not to be informed about their medical situation (if they asked their physician not to be told)?

for the first question, Kaplan says spousal abuse is not reported unless spouse give permission. but I saw a UW question which says it is mandatory to report. May be, it was as an old question. It may be changed.

Any help is appreciated

Report abuse must be reported for Children and Elderly immediately...and for person who's abused by his/her spouse is reportable just with his/her permission.

Yes the have the right to refuse being informed as the do for treatment
