why not B?

as spoken understanding would be B, and kaplan said that written would be affected anywhere within the language pathways because it is complex.

Thanks for your reply and sorry for the typo (gyrus -->guys ) :-)

In my reading, lesions in the area 39 may result in alexia and agraphia (inabillity to read and write),
While damage the Wernicke's area results in auditory aphasia,
so I thought understanding the spoken language is controlled by Wernike's area. I was confused between the spoken and writen language

isnt it that wernickes is the sensory aphasia...and the person can speak well thru motor system but donot know what to speak...so his speech is not easy to understand for the other person.??

B) Wernickes™s area (area 22) should be the one.
