Interviews in both Peds and IM in same program - arunsingh100

Guys is it going to be a problem if somebody is ranked in both peds n IM in the same hospital ?, suppose if there is no overlap between the two departments and theit faculties are totally different..

Is it true that GME office might take out your name from both the lists if you are ranked in both ?

Is it a violation to apply to 2 programs in the same hospital??

Just go thru the nrmp directory properly...there are separate codes for each program and it will be separate for IM and Peds even if it is in the same hospital. Even categorical and prelim positions in the same program have different codes...when u click and save it, it will show the subject...hope this helps..

@pedlove .... thnks , so basically that GME thing which i mentioned about is just a rumour rite ? so i guess ill go ahead n rank both specialties

GME office has nothing to do with ranking. Only individual residency program can rank people.

The rumor out there if the two programs of different specialty from the same hospital know that you are applying to both, then they may doubt how committed you are to the specialty. This may affect the way they each will rank you. That is only if the PDs (or PCs) talk to each other about you. No offense to you, but I doubt you are so exceptional or memorial that you are a topic of conversation between PDs.
