it is restrictive pattern.so it is difficult to get air in but easy to get it out.lateral traction is increased.this patient doesnot have much of the choice to increase the tidal volume but he can increase the resp frequency to decrease the work load.So i will go with increased frequency and decreased tidal volume.correct me plz.

why not increase respiratoy freq and normal tidal volume

why not normal freq and incresed tidal volume.by increasing tidal volume pt trying functional residual volume and so incresing minute ventilation.correct me
