NADPH from NADP for fatty acid and steroid biosynthesis
Maintaining reduced glutathione so as to protect RBCs from bursting

Also NADPH production is neccessary for bactericidal activities.

Lack of NADPH or/and NADPH oxidase causes Chronic granulomatous Disease
