Hey guys what happens if an American attending wants to contact a program regarding your application during SOAP?

You will be violating the SOAP policy and will not be allowed to participate with ERAS for 2 years. DO NOT contact any program or have anybody contact any PD on your behalf...they will find out!! Last year they made it VERY clear that you or anyone you know is not to have any contact with programs until after the SOAP is over. I already know of a few instances where people got busted for having people contact the programs on their behalf and now they are paying for it. If you have to do SOAP just go into ERAS, select the programs you want to apply to and send your app and wait for them to contact you. Just follow their directions because they are absolutely serious about their policy! Hope this helps.

@drtimmy yes you have to update your new number on both eras and NRMP because if you dont then the program wont know what number to call you at. Do it before you submit SOAP applications. You can do it now it will not affect your application at all or you can wait until SOAP begins and update it before you submit the SOAP applications
